Cross-cut Mouse "Fly-Kit"tm
Mice patterns and "mousing" have become quite popular over the years by fly fishers chasing everything from bass in farm ponds to large Brown trout at night in total darkness. Our close friend Chris Helm has tied his signature Deer Hair Mouse for years and to be honest most folks think he ties it to catch kids and people- but he actually fishes it. And, very successfully I might add. This pattern, that we have named the Cross-cut Mouse, was first showed to us by Davy Wotton (www.davywotton.com) when he was over from the UK many, many years ago. I first used it for bass in farm ponds- but since then we have figured out how to build the underbody to both float the mouse but not make it too heavy to cast. Each "Fly-Kit"tm includes:
